Maturing Prophets

As we crossed over to the Jewish New Year, I heard the Lord say this is the year that his prophets come into full maturity.

In 2020 I dreamt that I was in a classroom located in a bunker. John Paul Jackson, a renowned prophet who died in 2015, was the teacher. On the board he wrote “prophets are kind, prophetic are loving, prophets are faithful,” and so on. Another prophet, Troy Brewer, had a PowerPoint presentation that asked, “How does one become a prophet?” “You either just call yourself that”, he said sarcastically, “or the Lord elects you.” In the back of the class, I saw beings started commissioning the women in the class as prophets. I began to wail loudly, fearing I wouldn’t be called. Just then I saw a different version of myself, wearing a yellow and gold jacket, being commissioned. The new women prophets then transformed into purple and red roses. I saw an aerial view of tens of thousands of roses flowing through a dry valley. I knew the Lord was transforming prophets by refining their character.

Weeks later, God confirmed this revelation about the transformation of his daughters and sons, preparing them to inherit leadership mantles. In the secret place, his daughters (first) then sons will not only be tested and increase in the fruit of the Holy Spirit, they will have the opportunity to shed off insecurities, past traumas and embrace forgiveness. Hebrews 12:1 says “let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for you.” Those who steward this season well will be given great governmental authority as described in the Luke 19 story of the minas. I saw people going from being unknown to what seemed like overnight sensations.

Recently, I asked God to give me a biblical reference for what he is doing in this season and he took me to Ephesian 4. In this chapter we are urged to “live a life worthy of the calling you have received.  Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called.” What is this calling we have? Verse 15 specifies, “Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers,  to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up  until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.” This chapter is a clarion call to those called to the five-fold ministry and highlights the perquisite of living a life worthy of the call is becoming mature and exhibiting the fruit of the Holy Spirit.

In this season, promotion to corporate leadership will not look like having high prophetic anointing or being charismatic. God looks at the heart. Maturing looks like being conformed into the image of Jesus evidenced by the fruit of the Holy Spirit.  In Matthew 7:16 Jesus says about prophets, “you will know them by their fruits.”

I encourage you in this season to let the Lord finish the work inside of you so you can be mature, lacking nothing.
